WhatsApp’s new Terms of Service will be voluntary: Report

According to a new report, WhatsApp's new terms of service will be voluntary and would have to be approved when conversing with special accounts.

NEW DELHI  WhatsApp's new terms of service went live in May, and since then, it has made a number of adjustments and backed down from previous promises.

Instead of forcing everyone to agree the new terms of service, the corporation will now make them optional.

WhatsApp accounts not accepting new ToS won’t be deleted

According to feature tracker WABetaInfo, the new terms of service for WhatsApp will not be required to be accepted.

WhatsApp has already stated that accounts that do not accept the new Terms of Service (ToS) would not be deleted or have their functionality limited.

New ToS applicable in chats with ‘Special’ business accounts

WhatsApp will now continue functioning normally. However, if you choose to chat with specific business accounts that use cloud providers, you will be required to accept the terms. This means that until you agree the new Terms of Service, you won't be able to chat with the business account.

If you want to chat with a ‘Special' business account, you will be confronted with the revised Terms of Service. According to the feature tracker, the update will be available soon on both iOS and Android.

New feature of ‘Reactions’ coming to WhatsApp

WhatsApp is also developing a new ‘Reactions' function, which allows you to respond to a message. This is similar to how Facebook Messenger and Instagram DMs function with Reactions.

To receive the reactions, the user will need to update to the most recent version once the feature is made available.

The reactions will function in such a way that you will be able to respond to a message with an emoji.

It's unclear whether WhatsApp will provide you a specific group of emojis to choose from or whether the entire set of emojis will be available. This feature is still being developed and will be accessible in the future.

For the time being, the Facebook-owned messaging application WhatsApp for Android and iOS has received a new update that supports this upgrade.

It is pertinent to mention here that Wabetainfo is largely true in all of its WhatsApp forecasts, but the messaging app has yet to make things official.

The upgrade is only available in the beta version of WhatsApp, so we don't know if it will be rolled out to the public at large.
