Google confirms the way it generates web page titles in searches
Google has confirmed that an update on generating web page titles for search results is on.
Generation of web page titles in search results is bound to change soon, with Google officially confirming efforts in this regard. Going by what Google’s Danny Sullivan has stated recently, the search engine is on an update mode. The new update would change the way web page titles are generated in search results.
A Search Engine Journal report quoted Sullivan saying that a new system of generating titles for web pages was initiated last week. With the update set to come through, the practice of titles changing based on the query issued would be a thing of the past.
Goole believes that its new system produces titles that work better for documents overall, to describe what they are about, regardless of the particular query, the report quoted Sullivan.
Google is replacing web page titles with other on-page text.
The search giant has gone past the process of deploying HTML text to create titles, and the new system would make use of such text in future. The latest update will ensure that it uses text that humans can visually see when they arrive at a web page.
