Women Startup Summit 3.0 aims to inspire women in entrepreneurship

Winners of the Women Startup Summit 3.0 Innovation Challenge will receive a grant of Rs 5 lakh.

Come December, and Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM) will kick off its Women Startup Summit 3.0 in an effort aimed at inspiring women in entrepreneurship. This is expected to be done by facilitating women’s participation in three sections, namely Innovation Challenge, Investor Café and Hackathon. KSUM is the nodal agency of the Kerala government for entrepreneurship development and incubation activities in the state.

Women Startup Summit 3.0, the two-day event that will happen on December 15 and 16, will look to bring together women leaders and entrepreneurs from various fields on a common platform to share experiences, aspirations and success stories.

Summit to have ‘Rise To Equal – Post-Pandemic Era’ theme

With the focal theme that centres around ‘Rise To Equal – Post-Pandemic Era’, the summit will feature influential women from the start-up ecosystem. The event will get on to the floor with an objective to build awareness of business innovations, and would seek to encourage inclusivity in the ecosystem by accelerating and empowering women with upskilling and global collaboration opportunities, said a KSUM source.

The Kerala Start-Up Mission added that the winners of the Innovation Challenge as part of the summit will receive a grant of Rs 5 lakh. Applicants should be Indian start-ups with one or more women as the principal shareholders. Also, they should have conceived a feasible product model. The start-ups must have registered with DPIIT and must bear KSUM’s unique ID.

Innovation Challenge winners to get Rs 5 lakh grant

Women entrepreneurs can send in their applications for the December 15 Innovation Challenge till November 30. Besides the Rs 5-lakh grant, the winning entrepreneurs will be eligible for soft loans of up to Rs 15 lakh, which will be offered with an interest rate of six per cent, besides seed funds, the KSUM source added.

The Investor Café will be to promote investment in existing start-ups. It will provide entrepreneurs an opportunity to directly interact with investors, so as to further strengthen business.

The Hackathon is being lined up as a hybrid event, with both online and offline sessions to be organised. The winning women entrepreneurs will be eligible for a three-month pre-incubation at KSUM or internship at IT major Ernst & Young.
