Vir Das has spoken about the duality of the nation and mentioned instances like targetted attacks against comedians and others in his monologue titled, ‘I come from two Indias’.
Actress Kangana Ranaut reacts to viral comedian Vir Das monologue in the USA titled, ‘I come from two Indias’, where he said Indian men worship women during the day and gang-rape them at night.
Kangana slammed the video on her Instagram stories. She wrote, “When you generalise all Indian men as gang-rapists it gives rise and encouragement to racism and bullying against Indians all over the world...after Bengal Famine Churchill famously said, ‘These Indians breed like rabbits they are bound to die like this...’ he blamed Indians’ sex drive/fertility for the death of millions because of hunger... Such creative work targeting an entire race is soft terrorism... strict actions must be taken against such criminals @virdas.”
The trolls and police complaints have led the comedian to post a clarification statement on his Twitter handle. The fellow countrymen has also filed a complaint against Das in Tilak marg police station for allegedly using derogatory language against India.

A section of Twitteraties posted clips and pictures from his monologue where Das said, "I come from an India where we worship women during the day and gang-rape them during the night."
After being trolled, the 42-year-old actor-comedian took to Twitter and posted a note stating that he intended to serve as a reminder that India, despite its issues, was ‘great.'
"The video is a satire about the duality of two very separate India that do different things. Like any nation has light and dark, good and evil within it. None of this is a secret. The video appeals for us to never forget that we are great,” the note added.
"It ends in a gigantic patriotic round of applause for a country we all love, believe in and are proud of. That there is more to our country than the headlines, a deep beauty. That's the point of the video and the reason for the applause," it read.

Actress Kangana Ranaut has slammed the comedian on his remarks against the rising rape incidents in India in the monologue. It was the clipped part that was shared by a section of Twitter versions.
Action against Ranaut’s recent controversial statement
The actress has recently been embroiled in a controversy after her comments about the Indian freedom movement during her interview with a national channel. She said that Congress is an extension of British rule, and India attained her 'real freedom' in 2014, apparently referring to the BJP coming to power in 2014. What India got in 1947 was 'bheek' (alms), the actor said. The comment came right after she won Padma Shri, one of the highest civilian awards.
Aam Admi Party's National executive chairman Preethi Menon has filed a complaint seeking an FIR against the Bollywood actor for her seditious remarks with the Mumbai Police.
Today, before slamming the comedian Vir Das, the actress claimed Netaji and Bhagat Singh got no support from Mahatma Gandhi and went on to mock his mantra of ahimsa by saying that offering another cheek gets you 'bheekh' not freedom.
Fueling the controversy and justifying her comment, she targeted Mahatma Gandhi and asked her followers to 'choose your heroes wisely.' Somebody who believes that 1947 independence is 'bheekh', uses her freedom to put her thoughts on social media.
