During a press conference, Maharashtra minister Nawab Malik attacked the NCB official, levelling serious allegation.

The attention in the drug case involving Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan's son, Aryan Khan, has switched to Sameer Wankhede, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) zonal director in charge of the investigation.

The NCB officer was severely attacked by Maharashtra minister Nawab Malik during a press conference, wherein he levelled a number of allegations against Sameer Wankhede.

‘Sameer Wankhede is a Muslim who forged a Hindu caste certificate’

Nawab Malik stated on Monday that Sameer Wankhede is a Muslim who forged a Hindu caste certificate to gain entry into the Indian Revenue Service's scheduled caste category.

Malik posted a photo on Twitter of a birth certificate that he claimed belonged to Wankhede. His father's name seems to be Dawood K Wankhede on the paperwork, but according to the NCB website, it is Dnyandev Wankhede.

The same accusation has, however, been refuted by Wankhede.

NCB officer let go detained individuals affiliated to BJP, Nawab alleges

Malik further claims that on the same day that Aryan Khan was arrested, the NCB apprehended a number of individuals in connection with the same investigation, but that those associated to a BJP politician were freed.

The NCB has also said that it apprehended 14 people on that day, six of whom were freed and the other eight, including Aryan Khan, were detained.

NCB now investigating allegations on Sameer Wankhede

The NCB has now begun investigating the accusations that Wankhede was involved in a $25 million extortion racket by one of the NCB's witnesses in the drugs on cruise ship case, Prabhakar Sail.
