This is the first global event for Kerala IT firms after two years.

Thiruvananthapuram:  When GITEX Global, the 40-year-old tech event that showcases Artificial Intelligence (AI), 5G, Cloud, BigData, Cybersecurity, Blockchain, Quantum Computing, immersive Marketing, Fintech and thought-provoking conferences, opens in Dubai in October 2021, a large chunk of information technology players from Kerala would see it as a window to the future.

A total of 49 IT companies and start-ups based in Kerala will participate in this year’s edition of GITEX Global. What adds to the significance is the fact that this year’s event will be the first physical international event for IT companies from Kerala after a gap of nearly two years since the emergence of Covid-19.

GITEX Global will play host to companies from all over the world and is scheduled to be organised at the Dubai World Trade Center from October 17 to 21.

According to a Kerala IT source, the event is a major tech conclave that will bring to the podium the latest technologies and innovative ideas in AI, cloud, big data, cybersecurity, blockchain, quantum computing and fintech.

By participating in the GITEX Global event, the technology players from Kerala would have the opportunity to look at fresh markets and also attract investments.  In addition to the opportunity to introduce products and services, the companies can also participate in thought-provoking conferences during the event.

30 Kerala IT firms from Technopark, Infopark, Cyberpark to participate

Official sources said that as many as 30 IT firms from Technopark Thiruvananthapuram, Infopark Kochi, Cyberpark Kozhikode will take part in the event.

Of these, 21 companies are from Kozhikode alone. Six will be from Infopark, two from Technopark and one from KINFRA Thiruvananthapuram. These apart, 19 start-ups mentored by the Kerala Startup Mission will also participate in GITEX.

Kerala IT Parks accords immense importance to GITEX Global as the event will help companies to showcase the state’s fast emerging IT ecosystem, the potential for technology entrepreneurs and investment prospects along with facilitating IT firms from the state to connect and network with more international players. In addition to the opportunity to introduce products and services, IT entrepreneurs can also participate in conferences during the event.

Apart from the 49 companies and their top executives participating in GITEX Global, Kerala IT Parks has decided that its CEO John M Thomas will also be in Dubai to attend the global mega event.

As the Middle East region is a major market for IT companies in Kerala, Kerala IT Parks plans to organize a special business-to-business meet for expatriate industrialists and entrepreneurs to explore global market opportunities for Kerala based IT firms and attract more IT investments to Kerala.
