As per reports, over 100 Chinese soldiers infiltrated Indian territory in Uttarakhand and destroyed a bridge in the Barahoti area before retreating to China.

The Congress party has attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the ruling Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) for not reacting to the reports of Chinese troops incursion into Uttarakhand.

The barrage of tweets from the Congress

“After Eastern Ladakh, China has now infiltrated in Uttarakhand, 100 soldiers came and broke the bridge and fled. Where is PM Modi who talks about entering the territories (of enemies) and killing them?” the party asked on Twitter while using the hashtag #BorderKhatreMeHai.

In another tweet, the party said that after Eastern Ladakh, now Uttarakhand is where the Chinese troops’ spirits are increasing continuously. China, as per the party, is repeatedly eyeing India.

“Instead of giving him a befitting reply, the government is trying to save its throat,” it said while slamming the Centre.

Congress accuses PM Modi of hiding when it comes to China

The party further said that PM Modi, who boasted of entering the territories of enemies and killing them, has now himself entered (hid) in his own house.

The country, according to Congress, is paying a heavy price for the actions of PM Modi and his government. “By giving clean chit to Chinese infiltrators, their spirits have increased,” it observed.

“Does image management matter more than national security? Is this what the nation voted for? It's time for us all to rise up against Modi sarkar's priorities, because #BorderKhatreMeHai,” another tweet from the official handle of Congress party read on Twitter.

100 Chinese soldiers reportedly cross into Indian territory

It is in place to mention here that over 100 Chinese soldiers crossed into Indian territory in Uttarakhand and destroyed a bridge in the Barahoti region before returning to China, as per a story published in The Economic Times.

Barahoti is located in the Chamoli district of Uttrakhand, north of the Nanda Devi National Park, near the Chinese border.

The People's Liberation Army (PLA) forces reportedly crossed into Indian territory at least 5 kilometres over the Tunjun-La pass, according to reports.

The PLA soldiers arrived on 55 horses, wreaked havoc on Indian infrastructure, and fled before being challenged by Indian forces. They patrolled in Barahoti for approximately 3 hours, according to an ET story based on security agency sources.

Locals reported the Chinese forces' violation, and teams from the Indian Army and the Indo-Tibetan Border Police were deployed to investigate.

After greater Chinese activity was observed in Uttarakhand, reports said that the Indian Army expanded deployments in the central sector in order to avert a Ladakh-like situation.
