Punjab gives Kejriwal much to hope for; Will AAP spread wings?
Arvind Kejriwal has termed the Punjab victory as a revolution by the Aam Aadmi Party
For Arvind Kejriwal, the win for his party in Punjab is nothing short of a revolution. He believes that the Punjab victory is the second revolution of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) after it did the same in Delhi years ago.
Kejriwal will now look to spread the victory horizons in other parts of India too, and that is the confidence that the Punjab win has given him and his party. This win is also a major boost for the man personally, as he was accused by his erstwhile colleague Kumar Vishwas as being ready to take support from ‘separatist elements’ in Punjab to become the state's chief minister. That was an allegation Kejriwal found tough to stomach. This major win comes as his reply to Kumar Vishwas and those who made stories out of his allegation.
Win injects added confidence in Kejriwal
That was exactly what he meant to declare when he said, post-results, that the people of Punjab have chosen AAP above all other parties though conspiracies were hatched to stop it from winning. The results have been astounding for AAP, without doubt, as the numbers would clearly show. He also made sure that he used the winning moment to shout out that Punjab’s electorate have declared “Kejriwal is not a terrorist, Kejriwal is a true son of India, a true patriot”.
Calling upon his party functionaries, Kejriwal also announced that everyone under the Aam Aadmi Party umbrella would now stand together to create a new India, where everyone loves each other and keep hatred away. He called upon them to make India a place where no one is left to sleep hungry, women are safe and kids get the best education.
Attributing the win as a victory of the common man, or Aam Aadmi, the Delhi Chief Minister also sought people’s help in bringing about a change in country's system and political arena.

AAP and its hopes of creating a new India
It is now left to the new Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann to take the AAP dreams ahead in Punjab. The Punjab mandate was what Kejriwal and his party have been hoping for long. The step, for them, is one that would pave the foundation of the party’s growth in other regions of India. Though Kejriwal is a confident man, it remains to be seen how the various regions that have been immersed in the habit of voting to power leaders in the name of caste, creed, and faith would go about picking their representatives.
If Mann and Kejriwal would be able to lead by example, they could bring about a change. There isn’t any scope for being lax when it comes to doing real good things for the people. And if the people believe in the AAP, the party will have much to celebrate about in the election seasons that are to come.
